It is amazing how much of a difference those shortcuts can do - especially if You use them habitually (they save much time and are much more convenient in use).

Below I gather keyboard shortcuts (or hotkeys) which I use in various places. This is not a complex set of each possible shortcut which You could use - but only my personal, subjective excerpt - based not necessarily on what I myself use most often, but with the emphasis on what I’d like to memorize to benefit even further.

Maybe I will prepare a more complex sets of shortcuts in the future. In the meantime I’m going to update this one from time to time, so stay tuned :) !

  • Ctrl+Shift+X (when You add or edit a card and a cursor is placed inside one of editing fields) - edit HTML,
  • Ctrl+Shift+N - show all note types,

Audacity.

  • Ctrl+P - the app’s preferences,
  • F1 - selection tool,
  • B - play from cursor to selection,
  • Ctrl+Shift+A - select none,
  • Shift+J - select from start to the cursor position,
  • Shift+K - select from the cursor position to the track end,
  • Ctrl+F - fit in window,
  • Ctrl+Shift+F - fit in window vertically,
  • Shift+scroll wheel - scroll horizontally,
  • F4 - zoom tool,
  • Ctrl+E - zoom to selection,
  • Ctrl+1 - zoom in,
  • Ctrl+2 - zoom normal,
  • Ctrl+3 - zoom out;

Brave.

  • F6 - focus the address bar,

Chrome.

  • right click on a link+E - copy link address,
  • Ctrl+W - close the current tab,
  • Alt+Home - open a start page in the current tab,
  • Ctrl+Shift+N - launch the Incognito Mode,

  • Ctrl+Shift+O - open Bookmark Manager,

DSpellCheck.

  • Alt+N* - find next misspelling,
  • Alt+B* - find previous misspelling,
  • Ctrl+Shift+A* - replace with topmost suggestion,
  • Alt+Shift+A* - show suggestions menu at cursor;

FileZilla.

  • Ctrl+D - disconnect,
  • Ctrl+R - reconnect;

Foxit Reader.

  • Ctrl+G - jump to the page...
  • F3 / Shift+F3 - go to the next/previous instance of a word/phrase You're looking for;

Google Translate.

  • Ctrl+Shift+S - switch current languages;

Adobe Illustrator.

  • Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z - undo / redo,
  • Ctrl+Shift+O - convert fonts to curves (vector format; this is so-called "create outlines" function),
  • Alt+left mouse button+move Your mouse - change the brush size,
  • Ctrl+H - hide outlines,
  • Shift+O - create crop area out of selected object,
  • Ctrl+U - smart guides,
  • Ctrl+; - show/hide smart guides,
  • Ctrl+7 - create a clipping mask,
  • Shift+R - warp tool,

Adobe InDesign.

  • Ctrl+Shift+B/I/U/Y - bold/italic/underlined/normal text,
  • Ctrl+Shift+C - center,
  • Ctrl+J - jump to page...,
  • Ctrl+Num Enter - insert break character: page break,
  • Ctrl+L - lock position,
  • Ctrl+Alt+L - unlock position,
  • Ctrl+T - activate Character panel,
  • Ctrl+Alt+T - activate Paragraph panel,
  • F7 - show/hide Layers panel,
  • F11 - show/hide Paragraph styles panel,
  • Shift+F11 - show/hide Character styles panel,
  • F12 - show/hide Pages panel;

jDownloader.

  • Ctrl+Shift+R - restart the program,
  • Ctrl+L - add new links,
  • Ctrl+P - go to settings;

KMPlayer.

  • Ctrl + Alt + G - jump to the particular time,
  • Alt + X - show/hide subtitles,
  • Shift + Tab - display basic info on the current file,
  • F5 - set the starting (“A”) point of a desired section,
  • F6 - set the ending (“B”) point of a desired section,
  • F8 - turn on/off playing the A-B section only,
  • F2 - settings;

Kodi.

  • S - power options,
  • Shift+a letter - go to the first item beginning with that letter on the currently displayed list,
  • Ctrl+Shift+D - toggle debug logging (CPU usage and other info displayed on the screen);

LibreOffice.


Settings and Panes.

  • Alt+F12 - settings (works both within the start window and LO apps),
  • F5 - open the navigator side-pane.
  • F11 - open the styles side-pane,
  • Ctrl+Shift+F10 - use this combination to quickly dock or undock the Navigator, Styles and Formatting window, or other windows;

Styles.

  • Shift+F11 - create style.
  • Ctrl+Shift+F11 - update style.

Text Formatting.

  • F12 - turn selected text into a numbered list,
  • Ctrl+E - centered,
  • Ctrl+L - align left,
  • Ctrl+R - align right,
  • Ctrl+Shift+P - turn selected text into superscript,
  • Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V - paste the contents of the clipboard as unformatted (plain) text;

Text Navigating.

  • Ctrl+Shift+Arrow Up/Down - select to beginning/end of paragraph. Next keystroke extends selection to beginning/end of previous paragraph;

Other.

  • F7 - spellcheck.
  • Ctrl+H - find & replace.
  • Ctrl+F7 - Thesaurus.
  • Ctrl+F10 - non-printing characters on/off;

Magnifier (Windows 7).

  • Win key++/- - activate the Magnifier / zoom in/out,
  • Ctrl+Alt+I - invert colors,
  • Ctrl+Alt+spacebar - preview the desktop in full-screen mode,
  • Ctrl+Alt+F - switch to full-screen mode,
  • Win key+ESC - exit Magnifier,

Miranda NG.

  • Ctrl + Shift + O - the app’s options,

Mp3tag.

  • Ctrl+N - select next file,
  • Ctrl++ (numeric keyboard) - automatically size the file view columns to match the content,
  • Ctrl+K - auto-numbering wizard,
  • Ctrl+Tab - quick forward navigation between sub-windows (Tag Panel, Filter, File View);

mpv.

  • Shift+Ctrl+Backspace - mark the current position )this will then be used by Shift+Backspace as revert position (once you seek back, the marker will be reset); You can use this to seek around in the file and then return to the exact position where you left off,
  • left/right arrow - go 5 sec. backward/forward,
  • Shift+left/right arrow - go 1 sec. backward/forward,
  • up/down arrow - go 1 min. backward/forward,
  • Ctrl+left arrow/right arrow - go to the previous/next subtitle,
  • . / , - step forward/backward (pressing once will pause, every consecutive press will play one frame and then go into pause mode again),
  • [ / ] - decrease/increase current playback speed by 10%,
  • Backspace - reset playback speed to normal,
  • F8 - show the playlist and the current position in it,
  • # - cycle through the available audio tracks,
  • o - show progress bar, elapsed time and total duration on the OSD,
  • v - toggle subtitle visibility,
  • Ctrl + / Ctrl - - adjust audio delay (A/V sync) by +/- 0.1 seconds,
  • S - take a screenshot,
  • A - cycle aspect ratio override,
  • F9 - show the list of audio and subtitle streams;

Notepad++.

  • Home / End (double pressed) - go to the beginning/the end of a paragraph,
  • Ctrl+H - replace,
  • Ctrl+J - join lines,
  • Ctrl+K - make a comment out of selected text,
  • Shift+Tab - remove tabulators from selected text,
  • Ctrl+Shift+W -close all documents,
  • Alt+F6 - open another instance of the app,
  • Ctrl+Shift+D* - insert date & time - long format,
  • Ctrl+Shift+S* - show the current document’s summary,
  • Ctrl+Shift+8** - convert to UTF-8,
  • Ctrl+Shift+M* - show/hide Markdown++ panel,
  • Ctrl+Shift+N** - move to Other View,
  • Ctrl+Shift+E** - synchronize vertical scrolling,
  • Ctrl+Up/Down Arrow (move a selected file on the Project Panel up- or downward),
  • click on the beginning of the first line (out of those You’d like to modify), press and hold Alt+Shift, then click on the beginning of the last line - this allows You to write simultaneously on the beginning of multiple lines,
  • Alt+C - add anything (including consecutive numbers) to the beginning of each (selected) line;

  • Ctrl+Shift+L - bullet list,
  • Ctrl+Shift+P - publish,
  • Ctrl+K - create a link;

Photoshop.

  • Ctrl+Shift+N - create and name a new layer,
  • Ctrl+Shift+A* - adjust the exposure,
  • Ctrl+Shift+Alt+N - create a new layer with a default name,
  • Ctrl+Alt+V - create a vanishing point (to remove it use a backspace);

Subtitle Edit.

  • Shift+F9 - insert new subtitle at video position,
  • Alt+Insert - insert after,
  • F11/F12 - set start/end time,
  • F5 - play current subtitle,
  • Ctrl+Shift+B - add a comment;

Sumatra.

  • F5 - toggle presentation mode,
  • F11 - toggle fullscreen,
  • F12 - show/hide bookmarks,
  • Space - scroll by screen,
  • Shift+Space - scroll back by screen,
  • z - toggle zoom between Fit Page, Fit Width, Fit Content,
  • c - toggle between continuous/non-continuous mode,
  • Ctrl+Shift+N - to compare the same file side-by-side; it opens current file a new window - the same file is now opened in 2 windows that you can re-arrange as needed;

  • F8 - address book,

Windows 7.

  • Alt+F4 - close active window (it always works),
  • Ctrl+Q - close active window (it works in case of some programs, e.g. Pidgin, qBitTorrent, jDownloader),
  • Ctrl+W - close an active folder window,
  • Win key+Shift+Up Arrow - stretch the window to the top and bottom of the screen,
  • Win key+Home - minimize all windows except the current one,
  • hold Win key+ keep pressing T - switch between icons on the taskbar,
  • Win key + B - access system tray icons (then use arrows),
  • Shift + F10 - show context menu of a sys-tray icon, once it’s already highlighted,
  • Win key+a number x - open the x-th window from the left, which is already on the taskbar,
  • Win key+Alt+a number x - open the Jump List for the program pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number,
  • Win key+P - several multi-monitor modes,
  • Win key+X - open Windows Mobility Center with a couple of useful features (e.g. turn on/off Wi-Fi, adjust screen brightness, switch between power modes) (it works only on laptops),
  • Win key+L - lock the screen (if it asks for password it will be the same as the one You use to login Windows),
  • Ctrl+Shift+Esc - open the Task Manager,

  • Alt + Shift + NumLock - move the cursor by the numeric keyboard (as a result You should be able to harness - for example - the “8” button for moving the cursor up (hold and wait for it to move);

  • Ctrl+Alt+P - preferences,

WordPad.

  • Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y - undo/redo,
